Obituary for Robert "Bob" Wayne LaFleur Sr.

Robert Wayne LaFleur was born to Curly and Fern LaFleur on April 16, 1944. He had two brothers, Jim and John, and a sister, Dolly. They moved a lot when he was young and eventually settled in Whittier, California. Bob and Sandi married young and were married for 58 years. They had three children, Judi, Jeannine, and Rob. Bob was drafted into the Vietnam War where he served in the Army for two years. He returned from Vietnam to his wife and children where they made their home in Whittier around his family. They bought a home where they lived for 14 years and always had a volleyball net set up in the neighborhood and he encouraged everyone to join in. Bob received his AA degree using the GI Bill and then started working for Goodyear Tire.

Bob enjoyed being in the great outdoors and had a love of fishing, camping, and hunting, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. His family was important to him, making sure they grew up to be strong people.

Bob and Sandi volunteered for years with Hayden Little League, running the snack bar, umpiring and watching his grandsons play baseball. Bob and Sandi had three granddaughters and seven grandsons. He loved taking his grandchildren camping and showing them the beauty of the outdoors. Bob also loved corvettes and rebuilt and restored several corvettes.

Bob felt actions speak louder than words and taught his kids and grandkids about hard work. Bob and Sandi made the move to Idaho with Rob and Jeannine following them. Bob loved living in Hayden and being part of his community. He leaves behind a family that will be forever grateful for his strong will and dedication to his family. He will be missed by all. He lived his life by his own terms and left us on his own terms.
