Obituary for Greycin Wade Krause

Greycin Wade Krause was born in Spokane Valley, WA on November 10, 2004 to Kelly Krause and Gretchen (Findley). Greycin lived most of her life in Post Falls, Idaho, where she attended Seltice Elementary and then River City Middle School. In March of 2018, Greycin, her father, Kelly and her step-mother, Mary moved to Spirit Lake, during which time Greycin went to school at Timberlake Junior High School. Greycin was in 8th grade.

Greycin was known to all who loved her as a very happy and giving person. When asked what people remembered most about Greycin, they would say it was her smile. Greycin was always smiling, and laughing to the point of tears. Greycin loved to play basketball, ride dirt bikes, play her saxophone, go snowboarding, play rugby, and she adored her cat, Spike. Greycin - Grecie as she was called by her friends and family - loved being outside in the sunshine, planting flowers, attending youth group at Real Life Ministries in Post Falls, fishing, and above all else, she loved being with her daddy, Kelly.

Kelly was proud of nothing more than to be Greycin’s dad. Greycin wanted to be a diesel mechanic, and she loved being out in the shop working with her dad. From the time Greycin could walk, she was Kelly’s shadow. No matter where he went or what he was doing; working in the shop, watching TV, doing yard work, going to the store, watching movies, Greycin was there doing it, too, and Kelly would not have had it any other way. Kelly remembers that no matter what Greycin was doing, or trying to do, she would always make sure that she took the time to reassure him that she was okay by saying, “I got this, Daddy.”

“She was so brave,” Kelly said. “She was always trying to take care of me, and of everyone.”
According to her mom, Mary, Greycin always made her laugh. Their silly saying together was, “Truck in the ditch!” that they together chose to use in place of a curse word. Mary loved her butterfly kisses that she snuck in the kitchen with a giggle. “I didn’t get enough time with her,” Mary said. “It wasn’t enough time.” To her brother, Jeremy, “Greycin was goofy,” and her to sister, Beverly, she was the little sister that she never knew that she needed. Beverly said she changed her life for the better with her smile.

Greycin attended Real Life Ministries Youth Group in Post Falls, Idaho under the direction of Middle School Pastor, Heath Fagan. Heath said he had the privilege of being Greycin’s pastor for the past two years, and he was there when she was baptized in January 2017. “Every time she was at youth group, she was laughing and loving on people,” he said. “She was an uplifting person to be around, and I often saw her encouraging her peers. She had a bubbly personality and it was that joy that spilled over onto the people around her. She was loved by many people and she will be missed.”

Greycin is survived by her parents, Kelly and Mary Krause, Gretchen Findley; siblings, Jeremy Branon, Beverly Branon, Connor Zereski and Logan Zereski; grandparents, Vivian and Neil Krause, Vicky Findley, Roger Findley and Bus Asmussen, Uncle Kerry and Aunt Amy Krause, along with numerous cousins and countless friends.
