Obituary for Barton Luck

Barton Luck, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2019, surrounded by family. He truly lived an incredibly active and full 77 years. He married the love of his life, Ethel Luck, 55 years ago, and they were blessed to have an incredibly close family all living nearby, including his son, Chris Luck and wife, Lisa; his daughter, Amy Clemmons and husband, Brooks; and his son, Brian Luck and wife, Angela. He was filled with joy when he was surrounded by his seven grandchildren; Christina Luck, Austin Luck, Alida Luck, Sarah Luck, Sam Clemmons, Ryan Clemmons, and Eric Luck.

An avid skier and horseman, he shared his passion for both generously with his family and friends. Although he had cancer for over ten years, he lived every second he could to the fullest without showing it. He was skiing this past December, but unfortunately, even the bravest and strongest cannot outrun the ravages of the disease.

Barton was born to Joseph and Margaret Luck and grew up in Plattsburgh, New York. He was an incredibly accomplished Project Management Engineer, and after almost 50 years in the industry, he continued to work with both his sons. He always gave 200%, bringing his sharp intellect, critical thinking, and boundless energy to everything he did. After living too many places to mention, including significant travel abroad in over 4 countries, he made his home in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for the past 26 years. Despite a very serious work side, he was always fun loving and up for any activity. He was often found at the park playing tennis, football, baseball or soccer with his wife, kids and grandkids. He never missed an opportunity to impart his wisdom, help with homework or other projects. The world makes less sense without him, and he will be forever missed.
