Obituary for Anna M. Comeau

Anna Marie Comeau was welcomed into Heaven early Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the age of 96. Anna has often been referred to as the person closest to a saint they have known. She touched the lives of everyone that came to know her, always with open arms and no judgment. She spent her life dedicated to others and her faith in the Lord was unwavering.
Anna was born August 30, 1922 in Greenbush, Minnesota to parents Oscar Agre and Annie Reece Agre. Anna was the oldest of six children, one sister and five brothers; Ole, Jerome, Edward, George, and Marie. Anna finished high school in Greenbush and then went to Moorhead State College for two years. After teaching in a one room schoolhouse in rural Minnesota, Anna went on to help found The Grail in Loveland, Ohio (outside Cincinnati), where she worked and taught for 20 years, including helping assist with other Grail city centers.
Anna survived tragedy when she lost two of her brothers in 1962 during a boating accident in Anchorage, Alaska. Soon she left teaching to join the rest of her family in Anchorage, Alaska. There she met John (Pat) Wilfred Comeau where they wed on August 7, 1967. They went on to spend most of their married lives in Millinocket, Maine and enjoyed time with family and their rustic cabin in the woods. Sadly, Pat passed away in 1986 in a car accident.
Anna moved to Escondido, California to help take care of her mother Annie Agre and her special needs sister Marie. Anna had many friends in California and was very active in the St. Mary’s Church of Escondido. Anna’s mother Annie passed away in 1995, and Anna continued to care for Marie until Marie passed away in 2004. After her work was done in California, she moved to Post Falls, Idaho to live with her brother Jerome Agre and to be closer to her older brother Ole and his wife Fernella along with their families. Soon her brother Ole passed away in 2005. Anna and Jerome lived together for years and were the best of friends. Anna and Jerome ultimately both resided at the Life Care Center of Post Falls where they received excellent care. In 2016, she lost her beloved Jerome and became the last surviving sibling of her family.
Anna is survived by her goddaughter and niece Sharelynn Moore (Jason); Linda Brooks, Martin (Janet), Chelly Agre, Jason Agre, and Jamie (Olin). From the Minnesota area; she leaves nephew Michael (Sandy), Steven (Cindy), Marianne (Richard), Patricia (Robert), Mark (Pam), and Paul. All combined she also leaves a total of 28 great nieces and nephews. From the Maine area, she leaves her stepdaughters; Mary Cummings, Karen Shields, and Janet Comeau. She also leaves her special grandchildren; Shelly Glidden, Elainna Boynton, Kris Shields, and Amy Saucier along with seven great grandchildren.
The family would also like to thank her special friends at Life Care Center. We would also especially thank Joyce Buck for her longtime friendship of Anna, and her faithful and doting companionship all the way until Anna’s last breaths. You were so special to Anna and we are forever grateful.

In lieu of flowers, Anna has asked for prayers to be said at https://mymassrequest.org/.
